Greg Baker, Managing Partner of Towerview Ventures, hosted a webinar to provide insights into venture capital (VC), its role in fostering innovation, and the approach of Towerview Ventures, part of Alumni Ventures. He explained VC’s potential for outsized returns, emphasizing its role in supporting early-stage companies that often disrupt industries and create transformative impact. While acknowledging the high risks and illiquid nature of VC, he highlighted its ability to diversify portfolios and generate returns over a long horizon, citing successful examples like Airbnb and Uber. Towerview Ventures, leveraging a network of 750,000 members and co-investing with top-tier firms like Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia, follows a diversified strategy across sectors, stages, and geographies. Alumni Ventures, the largest VC firm for individual investors in the U.S., has raised $1.3 billion and invested in over 1,400 companies since 2014. The webinar emphasized VC’s long-term potential and invited accredited investors to explore opportunities in Towerview’s portfolio.
