Keaton Nankivil
Keaton Nankivil

Senior Principal, Sports Fund

Keaton has spent his career focused on high-level teamwork. A proud Wisconsin Basketball alumnus, he started his career playing professional basketball in Europe. He played for and led teams in competitions across Europe, including stops in Germany, Spain, Latvia and Italy. When he returned from overseas, his career focus shifted to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has worked with both institutional and corporate venture teams and completed and MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship. He holds a BS in kinesiology from UW-Madison and an MBA from the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Greg Baker
Greg Baker

Managing Partner, Sports Fund

Greg has been a Managing Partner with Alumni Ventures since 2017. He is the Founder of Bascom Ventures and runs Towerview Ventures and has made more than 100 investments as a member of Alumni Ventures. These investments include: American Gene Technologies, SHINE Medical, Mission Bio, Axiom Space, Matchwell, and many others. Prior to joining AV, Greg was a highly accomplished executive with experience in corporate leadership, business development, startups, M&A, strategic planning, and more. He spent much of his career growing businesses in the electrical products, packaging, and chemical industries. Greg has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin (’86) and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (’91).

Seth Partnow
Seth Partnow

Director of North American Sports, StatsBomb

Seth Partnow is the director of North American Sports at StatsBomb, a multi-sport data business. He has extensive experience using data within elite US sports organizations, having served as the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks’ Director of Basketball Research from 2016 to 2019. He is also the author of The Midrange Theory, a book about the evolution of basketball analytics, and writes regularly for The Athletic, where he covers the NBA and basketball analytics.

Doug Barton
Doug Barton

Director, University of Wisconsin E-Business Consortium

Since 1998, the UW E-Business Consortium (UWEBC) has brought together executives, managers, and senior practitioners from leading companies to learn from each other. We are a unique partnership of industry-leading companies and Wisconsin’s flagship university. Doug is the Director of the UWEBC and leads the team to implement strategies to achieve operational excellence. He also oversees the development of new and expanded ways to serve our members’ evolving needs for talent and organizational capability development, including leveraging the synergies between UWEBC and other UW-Madison campus units. With over 30 years of experience, Doug brings a diverse background working with and leading mission-driven and values-rich companies, including senior leadership positions at UBIX.AI and IBM. Doug has spoken at industry and professional conferences around the globe and local venues on topics ranging from design thinking, entrepreneurship, disruptive technology, analytics, and innovation. Doug has served three times as the performance director for ultra-cyclist Dave Haase in Race Across America. The event has been called “the toughest test of endurance in the world” by Outside magazine. It spans 3,100 miles, and finishers spend eight to nine sleep-deprived days and nights on the road under extreme and unpredictable conditions. Doug has been invited to speak at Sports Innovation Summits, IEEE’s Annual International Body Sensor Networks Conference, ANT Wireless Symposium, and around the world at industry and IBM conferences. Doug and his wife Kate have two daughters and live in Madison, WI. Doug is a six-time Ironman Triathlon finisher, where he loves to bike and hates to run. Doug holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University.
