Alumni Ventures Supports Multitude Insights in Transforming Law Enforcement

Multitude Insights is enhancing police efficiency and collaboration by providing a bulletin format for real-time information sharing and coordination. The company’s AI-powered platform, “BLTN,” serves as the best way for analysts and detectives to issue law enforcement bulletins, sift through backlogs of unstructured data, issue immediate alerts to other officers, and foster community safety through collaboration across agencies.

BLTN has been well received within the law enforcement community, significantly reducing administrative burdens and allowing officers to engage more directly with community policing efforts. The platform’s user-friendly design, reminiscent of popular social media interfaces, and its robust backend AI technology have made it a critical tool in modern policing.

Multitude Insights was co-founded by Matthew White, a former Naval officer and ethics leader, and Akihiko Izu, an experienced lawyer and human rights advocate.

White recently appeared on AV’s Tech Optimist podcast to explain how the company is integrating advanced technological solutions into the law enforcement sector.

“Our goal is to ensure that law enforcement agencies have the best tools at their disposal to protect and serve communities effectively,” said White. “We believe that the integration of AI can help solve the fragmentation and communication barriers prevalent within many police departments.”

AV’s investment in Multitude Insights was sponsored by The Yard Ventures, the firm’s VC fund for the Harvard community. White and The Yard Partner Pete Mathias built a strong relationship leading up to AV’s investment, as they both earned their MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
